No one expected New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers would be back this season.
Rodgers went down on the first drive of the Jets' Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills. It was reported that Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles, an injury that usually takes a year of recovery time. But Rodgers said that he would try to recover more quickly.

Aaron Rodgers Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Aaron Rodgers returned to the New York Jets' practice facility this week. The Week 13 injury report lists his status on Wednesday and Friday as "limited practice," and he did not practice on Thursday.
Rodgers had an "innovative surgery" in September that involved the use of a "speed bridge" on his left Achilles. The procedure was meant to speed up his recovery time so that he could return for a potential playoff run. The Jets are unlikely to make the playoffs now, but his current return target is reportedly Week 15.
Aaron Rodgers Fantasy Football Outlook
It is tough to evaluate Rodgers' fantasy value. No one knows for sure if Rodgers will be healthy and ready to start in Week 15. If he does, it would be faster than most previous returns from an Achilles tear. There's always the possibility that he could still be limited then or that he could get reinjured.
Moreover, even if Rodgers does return, we've never seen him play as a Jet. It was always a question even before his injury how he would look. Will he be rusty after having not played for almost a year? Is his age getting to him?
Week 15 would be the first round of many fantasy leagues' playoffs. If you have made it that far, you will probably already have a solid quarterback who helped get you there. It would be risky to start a question mark like Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs.
Rodgers should be considered a desperate move if you are weak at quarterback or if you suffer an unexpected injury in Week 15.
