Infield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 4 (1B, 2B, 3B, SS) - April 21 to April 27

Dylan Moore - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Dan's favorite infield-eligible fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups (1B, 2B, 3B, SS) for Week 4 of 2025 (April 21 - April 27). His top free-agent hitters to add.

Happy Easter, RotoBallers! Somewhere between hiding eggs, peeling potatoes, baking hams, and picking green cellophane out of the carpet today, you need to set your fantasy baseball lineup for next week. Before you do that, you have to place your waiver bids. Time now for the latest and greatest infield fantasy baseball waiver wire adds.

From last week’s batch, Ben Rice was the biggest standout. Over the last week, Rice reached base eight times in 21 plate appearances with a double, a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Unfortunately, a pitch to the elbow on Saturday (his second hit-by-pitch of the game) forced an early exit and leaves Rice’s status up in the air.

Did you snag Rice and are now making contingency plans? Is it time to finally dump those draft-day lottery tickets that haven’t panned out? Or are you realizing we are already 10 percent of the way through the season and need to make more drastic moves to give your team a jolt? Whatever is motivating your trip to the waiver wire this week, thank you for making this stop along the way. Hopefully, you will find some help among my favorite fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for the infield for Week 4 - April 21 to April 27.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Waiver Wire Pickups For Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)

Dylan Moore, 1B/2B/3B/SS/OF, Seattle Mariners (48% rostered)

In past seasons, when the question of adding Dylan Moore crossed my mind, the answer would be a resounding no. A utility man who only ever hits out of the bottom of the order in an anemic lineup, strikes out constantly, and struggles to maintain a .200 batting average? Pass. Moore’s one contribution, stolen bases, comes at the detriment of the other categories.

Moore’s start in 2025 is impossible to ignore, though. Through 18 games played, he is hitting .308 and holding down a 21.6 K percentage, a full eight points better than his career mark. If you bit the bullet on Moore last week, you were rewarded with an 8-for-21 week, with five runs, two home runs, and three steals.

Remember, not every waiver wire add is meant to be a league-winner or long-term solution. I don’t have a lot of faith that Moore will be able to keep this up. However, I do want him on my team while he is performing at this level. If and when he regresses at the plate, he can easily be replaced.

Carlos Correa, SS, Minnesota Twins (35% rostered)

Carlos Correa had a dismal start to the year and is now hitting .191 through his first 20 games. There is hope the bat might be thawing out, though. Since Monday, Correa has gone 4-for-13 with a walk and, on Saturday, he finally hit his first home run of 2025.

The warming spell has a good chance of continuing into the coming week. Minnesota first hosts the White Sox and then the Angels, neither of which sports an intimidating pitching staff. Yusei Kikuchi is projected to start a game for the Angels in that series. Correa is 10-for-22 lifetime against the southpaw.

Waiver Wire Pickups For Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)

Nick Kurtz, 1B, Athletics (24% rostered)

If you’ve been reading RotoBaller at all lately, you probably have noticed by now the multitudes singing the praises of young Nick Kurtz. Now comes my turn to join the chorus. The Athletics’ top prospect has a minor league-leading seven home runs as well as 17 runs, 23 RBI, a .329 batting average, and 1.085 OPS through 18 games for Triple-A Las Vegas.

There is no telling what the Athletics’ front office is going to do about Kurtz, but if you can afford a bench stash, he is the one you want to have. Kurtz is blocked at first by Tyler Soderstrom, who is having a strong start to 2025, and at DH by Brent Rooker, but the team is finding ways to make room for their 2024 first-rounder. Rooker has seen some runs in the outfield recently, and Soderstrom may see time at third.

Pavin Smith, 1B/OF, Arizona Diamondbacks (24% rostered)

Pavin Smith is the latest to graduate from the “More Waiver Wire Pickups To Consider” to a more fleshed-out call to action. I regret not shining a light on him sooner. Since Monday, he went 7-for-15 with six walks, two home runs, and a stolen base. On the season, he is hitting .392.

Smith’s left-right splits are pretty glaring, so Arizona is using him only against right-handed starters. He has still managed to appear in 20 of the team’s 21 games, though, as he is the first option in pinch-hitting situations. As a starter, Smith has been moved up to third in the batting order. Of the D-backs’ six games this week, five are against righties, so Smith will be of use.

Waiver Wire Pickups For The Deepest Of Leagues (Under 10% rostered)

Ryan O’Hearn, 1B/OF, Baltimore Orioles (8% rostered)

Ryan O’Hearn is stuck in a strong-side platoon, but when he is in, he certainly is making an impact. After 15 games played, O’Hearn is slashing .320/.404/.560 and has eight runs scored. This week he his home runs in back-to-back games, bringing his season total to three. The O’s are projected to see two lefties this week, but like Smith above, O’Hearn will be of use off the bench in those games.

Gavin Lux, 2B/OF, Cincinnati Reds (6% rostered)

Gavin Lux has provided very little to fantasy managers in 2025 until this past week. Since Monday, Lux has gone 8-for-14 with three runs, three RBI, and a steal. The Reds have had Lux batting cleanup for most of the season and only recently pushed him back to fifth in the order. Lux has made most of his appearances in left field this year, but retains eligibility at second and could gain eligibility at third. He made two appearances (one start) at the hot corner in the last week. The Reds play three games in Miami this week, followed by a set at Coors Field.

Oswaldo Cabrera, 1B/2B/3B, New York Yankees (3% rostered)

Oswaldo Cabrera is performing modestly as a semi-regular starter for the Yankees, batting .289 in 15 games. Routinely hitting at the bottom of the order, as Cabrera does, is not something sought after in fantasy. The placement helps, though, as when New York’s lineup turns over, he has Aaron Judge hitting behind him. So far this year, he has eight runs scored. Cabrera’s positional flexibility is another plus.
