BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 20% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Boston Media Mafia doesn't want you to know about it and will keep drilling Brogdon's name in your brain when it comes to the most deserving 6MOY candidate... but the truth is that New York's own Immanuel Quickley should be the one running away with the award when all is said and done in less than two months.
IQ is the sixth man on a Knicks team led by Tom Thibodeau. That is the closest thing to being the actual fifth starter on any other team in terms of minutes and importance. But hey, it's not that Quickley doesn't deserve that and then some.
The reserve guard was fantastic when he was forced into the starting lineup back in late December, and he's been equally great since he came back to his off-the-pine duties. Just in the last three weeks and from Feb. 11, Quickley has only produced fewer than league-average FP/min once in eight games played through Friday.
Quickley has scored 13+ points in all of his last 10 games averaging an even better 16+ PPG in that span. He's also hit at least one three-point shot in that set of games, averaging 2.8 three-pointers made. For a combo guard, IQ is rather active on the boards grabbing around 3.5+ RPG to go with steady contributions on the APG (2.5) and SPG (nearly 1.0) fronts too.
The usage rate has grown a bit of late, though it's still not notable at an average of 24% after coming back from the AS break. That makes sense, though, considering IQ shares the floor with as many reserves as he does starters, and the Knicks have a pretty balanced team in terms of the quality of the first and the second unit.
Quickley is surely way too valuable to be sitting in 80% of all ESPN leagues, so make sure to get him as quickly as you can. Ha.
