ANALYSIS: Ichiro Suzuki, the 42 year old legend, can still hit and he can still run. At first glance it may appear as if Ichiro's days of getting worthwhile ABs are over as he has accumulated just 18 ABs in ten games played with the Marlins so far in 2016. However, Ichiro has played in seven of the last eight Marlins games and in that time has averaged 2.14 ABs per game. In his 15 AB in the last seven games, Ichiro has produced six hits and two walks for a BA of .400 and an OBP of .471 while stealing a base in his only attempt for the season. That may seem like small potatoes, but last season Ichiro was able to steal 11 bases in 16 attempts in just 398 ABs and with a BA/OBP of .229/.282. Comparably, in 2012, Ichiro played in just 67 games and accumulated 227 ABs for the Yankees. However, in that time, he took advantage of a .322 BA and a .340 OBP to steal 14 bases in 19 attempts in that incredibly limited amount of time. If Ichiro gets ABs for Miami and makes the most of his chances, expect him to grab a sneakily high number of stolen bases by season's end.
