BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Hunter Pence just turned 36 years old. He hit just .249/.297/.368 over the previous two seasons, during which he logged only 787 plate appearances. It was fair to wonder if any team would offer him a contract this winter and indeed, he only signed his minor-league deal with the Rangers in early February.
At the moment that contract looks like a contender for steal of the offseason, because Pence is having one of the best stretches of his entire career and inspiring serious consideration for Comeback Player of the Year. The veteran is slashing a ridiculous .329/.407/.657 with six home runs and 41 R+BI in just 24 games. Half of those bombs came in a three-game stretch this week, which has led to his ownership rate skyrocketing over the past 48 hours. Don't expect him to continue at this pace - his current 33.3 HR/FB% is more than double his career 14.6% rate - but there's plenty to like in the profile otherwise. You can still add him for free in over three-quarters of Yahoo leagues.
