The Houston Texans had low expectations last season. Therefore, no one should be surprised that the team ended the year with a 3-13-1 record.
Houston started the year with a 20-20 tie against the Indianapolis Colts. The team then got a 13-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. However, the Texans lost 12 of their first 14 games last year.
After starting 1-12-1 over the first 15 weeks, Houston won two of their final three games last season. They defeated the Tennessee Titans 19-14 in Week 16 and the Colts 32-31 in Week 18. Will the Texans be better this year? Let’s look at Houston’s 2023 season and the fantasy outlook.

Who Do The Houston Texans Face At Home In 2023?
The Texans have nine home games this season, including three against their divisional rivals. They face the Colts at home in Week 2, the Jaguars in Week 12, and the Titans in Week 17.
While Houston has a challenging schedule to start the year, they will play five of their nine home games over the final eight weeks. The Texans start that run in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. However, the following week’s matchup against the Jaguars has Dameon Pierce excited.
Last year the rookie running back only played in one contest against Jacksonville because of an injury. Yet, the former Florida Gator had 26 rushing attempts for 99 yards and a touchdown in that game. Furthermore, Pierce had his way with the Jaguars’ defense.
Who Do The Houston Texans Face On The Road In 2023?
The Texans kick off the 2023 season in Baltimore against the Ravens. The AFC North team is Houston’s first road opponent of the season. However, the team will play three of its first five games this year on the road, facing the Jaguars in Week 3 and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.
More importantly, C.J. Stroud will struggle to start his rookie season. Houston faces several talented defenses over the first several weeks. Baltimore always gives rookie quarterbacks trouble, especially at home. Meanwhile, the Falcons spent a ton of money in free agency this offseason improving their defense. One of those moves was signing safety Jessie Bates III to a four-year deal worth $64 million.
