The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday morning in preparation for the upcoming Straight Talk Wireless 400 on Sunday afternoon.
The 37-car field was split into two groups for this practice session. Below you'll find the two practice groups, key notes from the practice session and the practice speeds for all drivers.
It is worth noting that Group A had a significant speed advantage over Group B in this session. For example, Zane Smith was the fastest in Group B but was just 10th-fastest on the overall speed chart.
Important Practice Notes
Christopher Bell - At the end of practice, Christopher Bell radioed to his team and said something felt "weird." It was later found that the No. 20 Toyota had a tire going down during the session.
Christopher Bell had a right-front tire going down during Group B practice. He radioed to his team that he was bottoming out, and Adam Stevens left it up to Bell on if he thought it was a tire issue. No. 20 team confirmed there was an issue after 17 laps.#NASCAR

Joey Logano - It was reported that Logano thought the No. 22 Ford had some power steering issues during practice. The team brought him back down pit road to check it out but it was never announced whether or not there was an issue there. That is something to monitor on Sunday.
Chris Buescher - The No. 17 team told Buescher that he could come in and make a quick adjustment if he felt like he needed it. The driver declined, indicating he was very happy with his race car.
