Derek Holland: Fantasy Baseball Player News & Analysis" href="http://www.rotoballer.com/fantasy-baseball-mlb-player-news/Derek+Holland" target="blank">Derek Holland has been cleared and will rejoin the Texas Rangers Notebook" href="http://www.rotoballer.com/mlb-fantasy-news/?team=TEX">Rangers rotation on Wednesday, according to The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
A shoulder issue has caused Holland to miss the entire season besides one inning in early April. Holland. He will be plugged into a rotation for a Rangers team that is fighting to get one of the two Wild Card spots in the American League.
“I got this opportunity and I have to capitalize,” Holland told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We’re in a tight race right now and these guys are playing hard and it’s my job to step in and continue that momentum and that mojo.”
Holland, 28, held a 6.00 ERA over 12 innings during his rehab assignment but his velocity was where the Rangers wanted it. The left-hander will likely be on a strict pitch count for the rest of the season.
In 2014, Holland was spectacular with a 1.46 ERA in six games pitched. He has found his spot in Texas and doesn’t want to let it up.
“I want to keep that same intensity I had last year when I came up,” Holland said. “There’s no need to add any pressure. I get to be part of this team again. That was my main goal is to be here to help these guys to get where we want to be, in the playoffs and then to the World Series.”
The Rangers are one game out of the second Wild Card spot in the AL while also four games back from the AL West lead.
