BALLER MOVE: Stash in Deeper Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: July
ANALYSIS: Heston Kjerstad was drafted by the Orioles in 2020 with the second overall pick. He's been stellar throughout his minor league career, batting .306 over the course of 914 at-bats and swatting 41 home runs. His results in the majors have not lived up to expectations yet. Kjerstad was first summoned to the big league club in 2023 and again in 2024, producing a .205 BA and .286 OBP with two home runs over 44 at-bats. To come up and hit .300 shouldn't be expected of someone getting their first taste of MLB pitching, but it also isn't giving the Orioles any reason to keep him up.
They can keep him at Triple-A until needed, providing him with regular at-bats that he wasn't getting with the O's. With Kyle Stowers the only outfield bat hitting over .240 with the big league club (in just 35 at-bats), underperformance might grant him another shot. It's possible a trade or injury provides another opportunity as well. Since his return to the minors, Kjerstad has continued to hit, batting .283 with five HR in 29 games since rejoining Norfolk. Once he gets a full-time opportunity at the major league level, he should produce.

With just 7% rostership in Yahoo leagues, the 25-year-old is available for stashing in most leagues. For now, he should probably only be stashed in the deepest of leagues, but once he gets the call he could be a viable add in 12+ team leagues for teams looking for power upside.
