BALLER MOVE: Add in 10-12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 46% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: Before this year, 25-year old Hernan Perez had averaged just 39 games and 84 ABs per season. Now 68 games and 195 ABs deep for the rebuilding Brewers, he is finally getting enough time to showcase his skills at the big-league level. And it's been quite a treat for both Brewers fans and fantasy owners.
His drawback is that he strikes out 23.3% of the time, and walks just 4.6% of his PA, but that might be where the drawbacks end. He has a .287 BA - and despite being a bit of a cliché speedy infielder, he has hit eight HR and has an XBH rate of 7.6%. He has also stolen 18 bases in 21 attempts, for a very efficient success rate of 85.7%.
Some fantasy owners have overlooked just how quickly Perez has accumulated these valuable volume stats. He has accumulated eight HR and 18 SB in just 195 AB. Over 500 AB, Perez would be on pace to hit 21 homers and steal 46 bases. And over the last seven days, he's hit .370 with three HR, four SB, seven runs and eight RBI - making him the number one ranked player over that time span. He can't go back and get early season ABs, but it is all about production moving forward. If there is one thing Perez does well, it is move forward. Go grab him off the waiver wire while you still can, he may be a fantasy monster for the remainder of the season.
