BALLER MOVE: Stash Everywhere
CALL-UP ETA: Tuesday, June 4, 2024
ANALYSIS: Baseball Twitter is buzzing with the news of Henry Davis getting called up to rejoin the Pittsburgh Pirates and face the Dodgers on Tuesday night. Even though his 2024 campaign didn't start as smoothly as one would have liked, Davis batted .162 with no HRs and 29 strikeouts in 23 games before getting demoted to the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians.
It appears the time in Indy has done Davis well, and it looks like he has regained the form that caused the Pirates to select him as the number one overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. In the 21 games that Davis has played since being sent to Indianapolis, he's been hitting a healthy .284 with six home runs, seven doubles, and 16 RBI.
Source confirms the Pirates are calling up Henry Davis. He had a 1.078 OPS and seven home runs with Indy this past month, with Derek Shelton sharing recently that he had been making progress with his mechanics.@JMackeyPG had it first

Davis is available everywhere right now, being rostered in only 4% of Yahoo leagues and 1% of ESPN leagues. It's extremely difficult to ignore the first-pick pedigree and if he doesn't warrant a stash just yet, he at least should be added to all watch lists. If Davis can figure things out and realize his potential, he will be a good source of power for a young Pirates team, add in his multi-position eligibility, and you have the makings of a budding fantasy superstar.
