ANALYSIS: While it is true that Hayden Hurst needed the full game to reach his final fantasy core, at least he eventually got there. In other words, Hurst scored his touchdown in the final two minutes of the game and that reception amounted to nearly half of his total haul. Even then, Hurst has been a nice streaming option for needy GMs out there and he should be considered as a nice target with the bye weeks about to start rolling.
As I said, Hurst is definitely not what you'd consider a legit, bonafide TE1 performer. He has not been all year, not even when healthy in the first two games (75% and 81% snaps share) nor when he got banged up against the Jets a couple of games ago (only 26 snaps for a 38% share).
Hurst put up 9.6 and 7.4 PPR points in the first two games (five receptions in each of those with eight and seven targets respectively and no touchdowns). Getting injured in W3 didn't help him (one reception on two targets, seven yards) but he came back against Miami in the midweek game and put up a good-not-great four-target, three-reception, 27-yard, one touchdown outcome helping Cincy earn its second W of the season.
Even though Hurst has been dealing with groin issues for the whole season to date, he's still been good to produce TE2 numbers every week barring W3 when he only logged a bunch of snaps. Hurst is definitely not the definition of guy-to-go at the position, but you can do worst than getting some shares of Hurst if you're managing in a slightly deep league.
