Boston Celtics - NBA Betting Analysis

After taking down the Hawks by a score of 119-106 in Game 2, the Celtics are riding a five-game win streak. Jayson Tatum led the way in scoring with 29 points. Not only did Boston win the game, but they also covered the spread as 10.5-point favorites.

With the win, the team has moved to 57-25, placing them second in the Eastern Conference. So far this season, they have gone 32-9 at home and 25-16 on the road. The Celtics have a six-game win streak against the spread and have an overall ATS mark of 46-36.

This season, the Celtics' offense has been excellent, ranking seventh in the NBA at 117.9 points per game. Boston has averaged 113 points per contest over their last five games. Throughout the season, the Celtics have been one of the top three-point shooting teams in the league, hitting 37.7% of their looks from deep (second in the NBA). Their three-point shooting efficiency has made up for them ranking just 17th in pace at 99.3 possessions per game. So far, their overall field goal percentage is first at 47.5%.

This season, Boston has performed well, allowing an average of 104.5 points per game (fourth). Although they have strong overall numbers, their performance on the defensive glass has been suspect, ranking just 26th in defensive rebounds per game. On the other hand, the Celtics excel in forcing turnovers with an average of 12.7 per game, putting them ninth in the NBA. So far, they have allowed opponents to shoot 33.9% on their three-pointers and 43.5% overall.

Atlanta Hawks - NBA Betting Analysis

The Hawks enter today's game having lost two straight, including a 119-106 loss to the Celtics in Game 2. Dejounte Murray led the team in scoring with 29 points on 45.8% shooting. Going into the game, oddsmakers had Atlanta as the 10.5-point underdog, resulting in an ATS loss for the team.

Now, the Hawks' overall record sits at 41-41, placing them seventh in the Eastern Conference. The team's current record at home is 24-17 and 17-24 on the road. The Hawks have failed to cover the spread in two straight games and have an overall ATS record of 37-47.

With an average of 118.4 points per game, the Hawks are ranked fifth in the NBA in scoring. Despite this, their recent performance has been below average, scoring just 113 points per game in their last five contests. Atlanta has utilized their pace effectively this season with an average of 99.3 possessions per game, which ranks 17th in the league.

Their fast-paced style has offset their three-point field goal percentage of 35.2% (32nd). The Hawks are 29th in the NBA for free-throw attempts and have a shooting percentage of 81.8%.

This season, Atlanta has put together a strong defensive unit, allowing just 104.5 points per game (fourth). But despite their strong overall numbers, they have been vulnerable on the glass, sitting just 26th in defensive rebounds per game. Yet, the Hawks have been excellent at forcing turnovers, averaging 12.4 per game, placing them 12th in the NBA. For the season, they have allowed teams to hit 33.9% of their three-point shots and 43.5% of their overall shots from the field.

Today's NBA Betting Pick - Celtics vs. Hawks

Today's matchup will be the fifth game of the season between the Celtics and Hawks. So far, the Celtics have the leg up in the series at 5-0. The most recent game between the teams resulted in both a straight-up and ATS win for the Celtics (119-106). Their combined 225 points fell below the over/under line of 231.0.

In the Celtics' previous five games as the favorite, they have a straight-up record of 4-1 while going 3-2 against the spread. In their last three road contests, they are 2-1 ATS and 1-2 straight up. Their previous 10 games have an over/under mark of 4-6 with an average of 230 points per contest.

Across Atlanta's last five games at home, they have an ATS mark of 2-3 while going 2-3 straight up. As the underdog, the Hawks are 1-2 straight up on an average scoring differential of -5 points per game. This has led to an ATS mark of 1-2. Their previous 10 games have ended in an average of 234 points per game and an over/under mark of 4-5-1.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: BOS -5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 229.0
