ANALYSIS: Harold Ramirez started the 2024 season in a slump, going 1-for-17 in the Rays' opening series against the Toronto Blue Jays. After getting a day off on April 1, Ramirez returned to the lineup the following day and recorded two hits and scored a run against the Rangers.
Ramirez has been a .300 hitter for the last two seasons and benefits from an absurdly high BABIP. This weekend, the Rays play a three-game set in Coors Field, which is well-known for its favorable park effects for hitters. In other words, Ramirez's luck should change very soon. Park factors aside, the Rays project to face three left-handed starters in their next two series. Ramirez's splits favor these matchups, with each column of his slash line being at least 50 points higher against southpaws than against righties.

The Rays have shifted Ramirez around in the lineup to start the season. He has hit second, fourth, and sixth two times each. Over the next week, he should provide a solid batting average and, depending on where the Rays slot him in, should contribute to your runs or RBI columns as well. Ramirez is not a must-roster player, but fantasy managers in deep leagues can benefit from his advantageous circumstances in the short term.
