ANALYSIS: First base is loaded with talent but is also producing some slow starters during the first week of the 2018 season. If you're an antsy owner, you can find a quick fix with Boston Red Sox first baseman Hanley Ramirez. He's had multi-hit games in three of his first five starts, along with four RBIs, a home run, and two stolen bases. Don't get too excited; Ramirez is in the twilight of his career and shouldn't be looked upon as permanent fixture in your lineup, especially at first base. He can fill your utility position if need be but even there Ramirez can't leaned on long-term.
Ride his wave of success for as long as you can, just be ready to dump Ramirez when his production (inevitably) slows down. But for now, he's easily a top-50 performer in just about any format and is getting picked up rather quickly. If he's there and you've got a player to drop, you should be grabbing him now. Should his success sustain for a while, he could be turned for a sell-high trade to lesser-aware owners in your league.
