BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 18% of leagues
ANALYSIS: I wrote so much about Grayson Allen's WW worthiness last year that ended losing the count at some point through the season. Allen, in case you don't know, was traded to the reigning-champs Milwaukee Bucks this past offseason in order to bulk a wing group of players that won't feature P.J. Tucker (off to Miami) and that is starting the year with Donte DiVincenzo still recovering from injury. Going from the Grizzlies to Milwaukee might have you thinking that the role was undoubtedly going to get reduced, but so far so good for Allen's minutes and upside.
Allen is currently the starter at the shooting guard position for the Bucks. As good as that sounds, folks. Jrue Holiday got banged up in the season's tip-off game and that opened the door for George Hill to start, removing one rival for Allen on the wing. Jordan Nwora and Khris Middleton have been the forwards, for now, so the remaining guard-spot has gone Allen's way. And he hasn't disappointed if you ask me.
Two games, 28.5 MPG, and an average 12-3-3-1 line in those two is what Allen has done in the 2022 campaign to date. He hit 10+ points and pulled down 3+ rebounds in each of those two games and had 6 dimes in the first game of the season to go with 2 steals against Brooklyn that night. Obviously, as part of the starting lineup and as a byproduct of sharing the floor with the likes of Middleton, Giannis & Co. the usage rate marks were below-average at 15% and 19.3% but Allen was still good for productive outings. Allen is going to give you points and moderate rebounds/assists while hitting tons of three-point shots (he had 3 in G1, then 2 in G2 on Thursday). Grayson shot 5.5 3PA hitting 39.1% of those last year, and is hoisting 9.0 3PA at a yet-to-positively-regress 27.8% success this season. Must-roster in almost every league at least until DiVincenzo comes back.
