Well, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz fell victim to a calf strain that will keep him out of practice and off the preseason field for a beat. Now before your rear end clinches up tighter than Aaron Hernandez during a prison riot free-for-all, rest assured that it’s not the same leg Cruz injured last season, it’s the other one.
Oh, Heavenly Day! It’s not his right leg, it’s his left leg! “I’m excited it’s not something that’s major,” Cruz said. “It’s something I can get over.”
So, what we’re hearing is that Cruz may have issues with not just one necessary limb, but two this year and we’re all supposed to take a deep sigh of freaking relief? The salsa dancing guru’s season came to an abrupt close in 2014 when he tore his patellar tendon in his right knee after playing just six games.
The Giants don’t appear to be overly concerned with this latest leg setback, they’re just being cautious. However, fantasy football managers should be more than cautious if they’re taking drafting Cruz into serious consideration – at least in a high round. The man may not have a leg to stand on come Week 6 (yeah, I had to say it).
Just do yourself a favor and stick with Odell Beckham Jr…. and not just because of this recent awesomeness:
