New York Giants - NFL Betting Analysis

The New York Giants kick off the season coming off a year in which they posted a regular season record of 4-13. This mark led to a last place finish in the East.

New York is coming off a 2021-2022 season in which they averaged just 15.2 points per game, placing them 31st in the NFL. Coming into the game, the Giants offense will look to put up points against last year's 6th ranked scoring defense. Last season, they scored an average of 14.17 points per game vs top 10 scoring defenses.

In their 2 games when they held a lead going into halftime, (2021-2022), the Giants finished with a record of 2-0. Overall, they averaged 5.88 points per game in the first half.

In week 1, New York starter Daniel Jones will be kicking off his 4th season in the league. Last year, Jones made 11 starts for the Giants. His overall passing yards of 2,428 placed him 29th among other NFL quarterbacks.

Having allowed an average of 24.5 points per game in the 2021-2022 season, the Giants finished 23rd in the NFL in overall points allowed. This week, New York will face off against last year's 15th ranked scoring offense. In the 2021-2022 season, they allowed an average of 19.5 points per game to teams that finished in the middle third of the league in scoring.

 

Tennessee Titans - NFL Betting Analysis

the Titans head into the season looking to make another appearance in the playoffs. Last year's team ended the year with a 19-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round round. Last year's team had an overall regular season record of 12-5, good for the top spot in the AFC South.

Tennessee finished the 2021-2022 regular season as the 15th ranked scoring offense at 24.6 points per game. The Titans come into this game with an excellent matchup on offense, as the Giants finished last year ranked 23rd in points allowed per game. When playing opponents also ranked in the bottom 10 in points allowed, Tennessee averaged 358.86 yards and 24.14 points.

During last year's regular season, the Tennessee Titans struggled to generate big plays as they ranked just 21st in . For the year, Tennessee ended 9 of their games with a higher yard per play figure than their season average.

Heading into the game, quarterback Ryan Tannehill enters his 11th year of his career. Tannehill is coming off a season in which he started all 17 games for Tennessee. In terms of production, he threw for a total of 3,734 yards, placing him 16th in the league.

The Titans are hoping to continue last year's defensive success, as they allowed just 20.8 points per game, ranking 6th in the league. This week, Tennessee will face off against last year's 31st ranked scoring offense. In the 2021-2022 season, they allowed an average of 16.43 points per game to teams that finished in the bottom third of the league in scoring.

 

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Giants vs. Titans

Looking back at the recent matchups between New York and Tennessee, the Titans have taken 4 of the last 5 contests. With a combined scoring average of 41.0 points per game, the over-under record comes in at 2-3. Last year, the Giants and Titans did not play each other.

New York comes in with an ATS mark of 4-1 in these matchups. Offensively, the Titans have scored an average of 21.8 points per game in their last 5 vs New York. As for the Giants, they have averaged 19.2 points in these same games.
