BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 34% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Rockies are not generally a great source of pitching value in fantasy leagues, given the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field. In 2018, though, most of their rotation has at least had stretches of usefulness. German Marquez is in one such period right now. The strikeouts have been there all season (146 in 135 2/3 innings), but his unfavorable home park and penchant for allowing home runs kept Marquez's ratios in largely unplayable territory. In his last eight turns, however, the 23-year-old has produced excellent numbers (five wins, 2.91 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) and has notched a quality start in all but one of those outings. That's even more impressive when you consider that all eight of those opponents are playoff contenders and in the top half of MLB in runs scored.
Despite his recent run of success, you can add Marquez from the waiver wire in two-thirds of Yahoo leagues in advance of his start at Atlanta tomorrow afternooon.
