ANALYSIS: After a difficult first season in Denver, Parra was supposed to be buried on the depth chart. Instead, he’s hit .354/.376/.531 with eight home runs and 81 R+RBI in 65 games. As you can tell from that low number of games played, Parra hasn’t been an everyday presence in the Rockies lineup to this point. However, with Ian Desmond back on the disabled list, expect Parra to man left field on the daily for a while. He’s also been slotted into the cleanup spot in six of his last seven starts (he hit second in the other game). Impressively, the 30-year-old has gone hitless in just four games since the end of May.
Like all Rockies hitters, Parra enjoys a significant boost from Coors Field. He's produced an absurd .423/.445/.644 line at home, compared to a more pedestrian .286/.310/.419 on the road.
