Should I Start George Pickens for Fantasy Football?
After being criticized in Week 15, the second-year wideout showcased a monster performance in Week 16 against the Bengals where he caught four of his six targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Pickens has dealt with multiple quarterbacks this season, but may have finally found a suitable option in Mason Rudolph, who put on a clinic against the Bengals and used Pickens as his number one receiving option.
In Week 17, the Steelers will be competing against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have struggled this season in defending wide receivers as they currently rank 13th in the NFL in most receiving yards given up this year. Despite the career performance last week, Pickens can be viewed as a low-end WR3 with upside.
He is the WR30 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Aaron Jones for Fantasy Football?
The Green Bay Packers' running back Aaron Jones saw his best performance of the season in Week 16 where he had 21 rushes for 127 rushing yards and one reception for eight yards. Jones also failed to reach the end zone on a couple of goal line scenarios, which could have boosted his fantasy outing even more.
Jones does appear to be on the injury report once again for Week 17, which is concerning for managers; however, showing limited participation on Wednesday is a good sign that he should be a full participant by the end of the week. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his injury status, but if he is able to play, Jones can be viewed as a solid RB2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
He is the RB19 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Chris Godwin for Fantasy Football?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin has had a rebirth in the second half of the season, totaling 33 targets for 286 yards in his last three outings. Despite not recording a touchdown since Week 8, the wideout has given fantasy managers a reason to trust him in lineups.
In Week 17, the Buccaneers will face the New Orleans Saints, a defense that ranks sixth in the NFL in fewest receiving yards allowed this season. That could hurt Godwin's value, but the wideout should still see a solid floor of consistency. Godwin can be viewed as a low-end WR2 this week.
He is the WR25 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
