BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB1
ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith easily had the worst game of his 2024 season in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 212 yards and one interception while rushing five times for 16 yards. The Bills have a stingy pass defense, but the team was without lead wide receiver D.K. Metcalf (knee).
Geno Smith goes through this every game and doesn’t go braindead when it happens
Nobody in the NFL that considers their QB “good” should be complaining about pressure https://t.co/M3LQQPqY3w pic.twitter.com/omKZPvrwGg

He's an excellent quarterback. The problem is that Metcalf may miss another game. That said, No. 7 is still a good start, considering that he plays in a pass-heavy offense and will face a Los Angeles Rams defense in Week 9 that's much softer against the pass. The Rams allow the sixth-most yards per pass attempt this season.
They've tightened things up a bit, allowing just 6.4 yards per pass attempt over the last three games, but it's still a solid matchup for Smith. Even if his top WR isn't able to suit up, the former New York Jet should be able to put up respectable passing numbers and finish the Week as a top-12 QB. He should be started in leagues with 12 or more teams.
