ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith hasn’t had the season fantasy players had hoped for. Last year, the veteran quarterback had a top-five finish in his first season as the starter. Unfortunately, he is only the QB20 in 2023, averaging 13.5 fantasy points per game.
However, the former West Virginia star is coming off his best performance of the year. Smith completed 66% of his pass attempts for 369 yards and two touchdowns against the Washington Commanders. More importantly, he scored a season-high 24.1 fantasy points in the victory.
Unfortunately, Smith won’t have an easy matchup again in Week 11. The Commanders have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. They have given up 20.5 fantasy points per game this year, the most in the NFL.
Meanwhile, the veteran quarterback faces the Los Angeles Rams this week. They have held quarterbacks to only 1.3 passing touchdowns and 16.8 fantasy points per game over their past four matchups. Furthermore, Smith only had 112 passing yards and 9.1 fantasy points in the Week 1 matchup against the division rivals. He shouldn’t be started in 1QB leagues.
