ANALYSIS: Considering all of the hype he entered the NFL with, the truth is that Garrett Wilson has disappointed fantasy GMs a fair share. Perhaps that hype was just a nonsensical product of the Jets fans out there pumping it up, but whatever the case might be, it is unarguably true. Not that playing under veteran/baby QBs Joe Flacco/Zach Wilson has helped Wilson, though.
Wilson had a 30-PPR explosion back in Week 2 but he only got to score 32.0 PPR points in the next five games combined. Thank (football) God, he finally had another breakout performance this past weekend against the Patriots when he scored 17.5 PPR points.
The Garrett of the Wilsons hauled in 6 receptions (7 targets) for 115 yards on the day and only lacked a touchdown to have the perfect day and help the losing Jets. It was the second most-productive day by Wilson with 6 receptions (season-high at 8) and the best in receiving yards (prior-best at 102).
Wilson & Wilson face the Bills in Week 9 so odds are the passes will come in bunches once more if New York wants to at least try and do something against Buffalo--though everybody knows the ultimate faith they'll suffer already.
The Jets are going to trail more than lead ROS so the opportunities and the volume will be there for all NYJ pass catchers, so get some shares to deploy in your FLEX, just in case.
