ANALYSIS: Miami Marlins outfielder Garrett Cooper has become a mainstay in the heart of the team's lineup this year. He has a slash line of .306/.375/.473 with eight home runs and 31 RBI across 51 games on the season. He's shown a solid ability to hit for average this year, supported by his xBA of .295, which ranks amongst the top 10% of the league. In June, the best month of his big league career so far, he hit .372 and went on an 11-game hitting streak during the middle of the month.
The Marlins have one of the league's worst offenses, but as long as Cooper continues hitting third in the order, his runs and RBI totals shouldn't suffer too much. He's getting on base at a high enough clip to force runs and RBI into his stat line. In 12+ team leagues and NL-only leagues, he's a great add. In more shallow leagues, if you need outfield depth or someone to boost your batting average, he's a great target as well.
