Free NBA Betting Picks - Today's Best Bets, Expert Predictions, Odds (3/22/23)

Julius Randle - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Betting, Prop Picks

Thunder Dan's top NBA betting picks and best bets for today's NBA games on 3/22/23. His free picks against the spread, teasers, parlays, and NBA player props.

I didn't jinx the Cavs, who covered for us and the Thunder went out and did the damn thing, too, pulling out a close win to not only cover but win outright against the Clippers. The only snag came when the Kings got blown out on the second leg of a B2B by the mighty Celtics, but I'll still take a solid 2-1 night and the extra bonus bet on the OKC money line was the icing on the cake.

With ten games going off tonight, we have more games to choose from and while there are a few projected blowouts that could get ugly, we also have some pretty compelling matchups between playoff contenders, too! I'm only picking sides and totals in this article three days a week, so consider subscribing to my sports betting substack here as I put out some DFS stuff and props on most evenings from Monday through Friday, too.

In this article, I'll be providing my favorite picks against the spread, game totals, parlays, and teasers for NBA games that tip-off at 7:00 PM EST on Wednesday, March 22nd.

Thunder Dan's NBA Best Bets

  • 2022-2023 Overall Record: 144-128-2
  • Against the Spread: 72-63-2
  • Game/Team Totals: 16-27
  • Moneyline Parlay: 19-25
  • Teasers: 34-13

NBA Betting Picks: Against the Spread

New York Knicks (+1.5) @ Miami Heat (221 total)

Here we are in March and I firmly believe that the Knicks are, in fact, a really good team. They continue to win big games and have proven that they belong when it comes to pretenders and contenders. They have been a better team than Miami this year, especially in the most recent sample, so I am still pretty confused as to why they are underdogs today.

They have beaten the Heat twice in two meetings (both by only two points) and with Jalen Brunson back, they finally have their core back in place. Their most recent win over the Nuggets got my attention and the knock on them last year and even earlier this year was that they could beat lesser teams, but not the top teams in the league. That's simply not the case anymore.

New York has been superb on the road with the best record ATS in the league (24-12). They also thrive as the underdog, going 22-15 ATS this year. I can't pass up a chance to get them at plus odds here to win, and this is by far the favorite of my two main bets tonight. I may even go two or more units on it tonight, I am feeling these Knicks right now!

The Pick: Knicks ML (+100)

Phoenix Suns (-1.5) @ LA Lakers (227 total)

Ok, now it's time for me to buck some trends since I was so trend-heavy on my Knicks pick. The Lakers are 0-2 against the Suns this season, but this feels like a spot where they could pick up a win at home based on a few different factors.

For one, the Suns will be without Kevin Durant and their starting center Deandre Ayton. That leaves them with Chris Paul and Devin Booker to carry the offensive load and will force them to play guys like Bismack Biyombo, Jock Landale, Josh Okogie, and Torrey Craig for a bunch of minutes at the 4 and the 5. None of those guys are likely to slow down Anthony Davis, who has been awesome in LeBron's absence, averaging 27-14 in games that LBJ has missed. Davis had one of his best games of the season this year against Phoenix (LeBron was out in that game) when he scored 27 points, pulled down 21 boards, and racked up five steals and five blocks each - WOW.

But the Lakers' recent playoff push hasn't been just about Davis. D'Angelo Russell has fit in well since coming over from Minnesota and Austin Reaves has been simply awesome off the bench. This Lakers team has been doing just enough to stay in the mix for the play-in series and if they get LeBron back in time for the playoffs, I love their chances of securing one of those last two spots and giving one of the top seeds in the West a tough out in round one.

In summary, Phoenix without Durant and Ayton doesn't really scare me and I think the Lakers need this game more and will rally around Reaves and Davis to pull out a big win at home. Once again, we are getting plus odds here on the money line which is awesome.

The Pick: Lakers ML (+100)

NBA Betting Picks: Parlays and Teasers

Money Line Parlay: MIN +TOR + MIL +MEM = (+129 DK)

I hate having to go four teams to get plus odds here, but I do think Minnesota can beat Atlanta on a B2B and we could see Anthony Edwards and/or Karl-Anthony Towns return for the Wolves tonight.

UNDERDOG TEASER (buying 10 points = Super Teaser on DraftKings)

WAS +16..5, CHI +13.5, POR +14, LAL +11.5 = (-120 DK)
