MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Kenta Maeda OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-145 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Kenta Maeda has been quite the surprise for the Twins this year. Before the injury, Maeda showed flashes of being a frontline starter in the big leagues and, since his return from the IL, has done nothing to change my mind. Maeda has a 3.59 SIERA, 28.8% K%, 13.3% SwStr%, and a .228 BAA on the season. His trends are elite, and he is only improving as the season progresses. Over his last seven starts, he has a 3.16 SIERA, 33.1% K%, 14.1% SwStr%, and a .179 BAA. He has struck out six or more batters in six of those seven stars in that span.
Maeda will face the Detroit Tigers this afternoon at home in the confines of Target Field. On the season against right-hand pitching, the Tigers own a 24.3% K%, 86 wRC+, .293 wOBA, and a .371 SLG. Since the All-Star break, the strikeouts are also at a 25.0% K%. Maeda, on the season, has a 28.4% K% against lefties and a 29.1% K% against righties, so whoever the Tigers send to the plate, I have complete confidence in Maeda reaching six strikeouts this afternoon.
Aaron Nola OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-160 DraftKings SportsBook)
I would advise you to jump on this line as soon as possible, as it undoubtedly will jump to six-and-a-half shortly. Nola has a 3.81 SIERA, 25.2% K%, 12.2% SwStr%, and a .234 BAA on the season. Since the break, Nola has also been trending back into elite form. Over his last seven starts, he has a 3.25 SIERA, 28.2% K%, 12.9% SwStr%, and a .257 BAA. He has struck out six or more in all seven of those starts. FanDuel already has seen its line jump to the six-and-a-half mark, so get this while you can.
The Blue Jays are not a team we usually pick on, but if you read my DFS article yesterday, this is not the same team. Since the break, the Blue Jays own a 22.5% K%, 97 wRC+, .310 wOBA, and a .416 SLG. This team is also not the same without Bo Bichette in the lineup. The K % jumps to 24.1% over the last 30 days when you take him out of the lineup. This an above-average matchup for Nola, and the line treats it as if it’s elite.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
SGP Will Benson + Matt McLain to record a hit (+130 DraftKings SportsBook)
Over the last few months, I provided you with some hit parlays. Honestly, it's been a blast betting and has been very profitable. I will make this a constant theme in my articles for the rest of the season. I like giving you guys different looks on how to bet instead of writing up the everyday props like always. You can always take either of the two guys below for their total bases prop to get a better line.
Noah Syndergaard will get the ball for the Guardians against the Reds. Syndergaard has a .301 BAA on the season. Over his last four starts, he allowed six or more hits in three of those outings. He has allowed a .299 BAA against lefties this season and a .303 BAA against righties. We will be attacking him today with one right-handed bat and one left-handed bat because of the even splits.
Matt McLain is the best right-handed bat in this lineup against right-hand pitching. He has a .283 AVG against the split this season. McLain has a hit in five of his last six games. Will Benson has been a great addition to the Reds this season. He is hitting .311 on the year against righties, which leads the Reds left-handed bats. He has a hit in four straight games.
