MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Joey Wentz OVER 5.5 hits allowed (-110 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Wentz has found the going rough all season, as he's pitched to a 7.45 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 38.2 innings over nine starts. The young lefty has pitched to about as much contact as those numbers would indicate, as he's yielded 49 hits across 38.2 innings.
Wentz has conceded 16 hits across the 4.2 innings covering his last two starts alone. He's surrendered at least six hits in five of nine starts overall, and the White Sox make for a daunting opponent despite their offensive struggles at times this season.
Chicago has been especially coming on against left-handers, generating a .300 average, .814 OPS and .353 wOBA in that split, along with a modest 18.9 percent strikeout rate, in that split during May. Given Wentz's recent form and the matchup, this is a prop that should have a good chance of cashing.
Hunter Brown OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+128 FanDuel Sportsbook)
Brown is once again winning more than his fair share of battles against big-league hitters despite his precocious age, and the Athletics, Friday's opponent, have already fallen victim to him once.
Oakland served as Brown's opponent in his most recent start, and he mowed through the A's to the tune of a career-high nine strikeouts. That performance marked Brown's fifth tally of more than six strikeouts in nine starts.
The A's continue to be one of baseball's worst hitting teams and check in to Friday's contest with an MLB-high 27.7 percent strikeout rate against right-handed pitching in May while generating the second-worst wRAA (-25.0) in that split over that span.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Tim Anderson OVER 1.5 total bases (-123 Caesars SportsBook)
Anderson isn't quite hitting up to his standards yet this season, but as customary, he's been raking against left-handed pitching. The veteran shortstop owns a .333 average in a small sample of 27 plate appearances in that split this season, and a .341 average and .852 OPS versus southpaws since the start of the 2021 season.
Tigers starter Joey Wentz has struggled plenty this season as already outlined in the entry for his prop above. The lefty has been generous in opposite-handed matchups, giving up a .323 average, .401 wOBA and 13 extra-base hits to the 139 right-handed batters he's faced.
Anderson is striking out at a modest 18.8 percent clip and has an expected batting average of .277 that's appreciably higher than his actual .244 figure. Given his track record, especially against lefties, this is a very viable prop.
Adolis Garcia To Hit A HR (+600 Caesars SportsBook)
A home-run prop is typically both a risky and fun bet to sweat out. The excellent price is directly tied in to the former, and there are certainly spots where it makes sense to take a shot.
Garcia is in such a scenario Friday versus Orioles starter Grayson Rodriguez, who has plenty of talent but has surrendered eight homers in his last 17.2 innings (four starts) alone. Meanwhile, the righty-swinging Garcia has 14 round trippers across 206 plate appearances, with 11 of those coming in same-handed matchups.
It's also worth noting Rodriguez is giving up a .368 average, 96.7 mph average exit velocity and .476 wOBA on his trademark pitch, the four-seam fastball, while Garcia has crushed that offering for six of his homers this season. O's relievers have also surrendered six homers to right-handed hitters thus far in May.
Salvador Perez OVER 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+120 DraftKings SportsBook)
Perez has traditionally been proficient against left-handed pitching and owns a .288 average and .912 OPS against southpaws since the start of the 2021 season.
Friday, he gets a crack at veteran Nationals lefty Patrick Corbin, who's actually strung together four straight quality starts but is arguably pitching over his head. Not only has Corbin been plenty hittable in the last two seasons (6.05 ERA, 1.58 WHIP), but he's sporting a .323 xBA, .376 xwOBA and 6.09 xERA this season.
Perez also boasts a .300 average, .888 OPS and .365 wOBA at home, and he's sporting a .408 wOBA overall in May. Meanwhile, Corbin has been especially vulnerable to right-handed hitters on the road, surrendering a .313 average and .376 wOBA while posting a very low 5.5 K/9 in that split.
