MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Edward Cabrera OVER 5.5 strikeouts thrown (-120 DraftKings)
Edward Cabrera has struck out at least six batters in each of his first two starts this season. In fact, he has 17 strikeouts across his first 11 innings pitched this season. He will be facing a Washington Nationals' squad that has shown some holes in their lineup.
Over the previous two weeks, the Nationals are posting a K rate of 23.3% vs. right-handers, which ranks them in the bottom half of the league. They are also posting a sub-100 wRC+ mark, which could help lengthen Cabrera's start at home.
Jonathan Cannon OVER 3.5 strikeouts thrown (-120 DraftKings)
Jonathan Cannon is a laregly unknown quantity as he has pitched just 8 2/3 innings in the big leagues. He has managed to strike out eight batters in this timeframe, and he struck out five batters across 3 2/3 innings pitched in his most recent start against the Twins on Monday.
The matchup here is ripe for him to collect at least four strikeouts against the Tampa Bay Rays. Over the previous two weeks, Tampa Bay is posting a 28.6% K rate vs. right-handers, which ranks them second-worst in baseball over that span. They are also posting a wRC+ of just 89 over that same two-week span.
Jordan Hicks OVER 15.5 outs recorded (+105 DraftKings)
Let's take a shot on some plus money today with Jordan Hicks over 15.5 outs recorded. Hicks has shown the ability to get through more than five innings pitched in two of his five starts this season and has a tremendous matchup to do it again tonight against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Over the previous two weeks, the Pirates are posting just a 69 wRC+ mark vs right-handers, which ranks fifth-worst in the league. They are also posting just a 5.9% walk rate, which also ranks them fifth-worst in the league. These two stats combined should help Hicks navigate this lineup and is definitely worth taking the shot here at plus money.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Mookie Betts OVER 1.5 total bases (-115 DraftKings)
Mookie Betts has started this season on a tear as he is slashing .382/.485/.645 with a 1.130 OPS. He has collected two or more bases in four of his previous six games. He will also be facing left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, which could be good news as Betts has posted a 1.066 OPS vs. left-handers thus far in 2024.
Kikuchi has been strong, but has always been a bit more susceptible against right-handed hitters as he has allowed a .259 BAA and 44 home runs since 2022. When he is done, the Blue Jays will deploy a bullpen that has posted a 5.00 ERA this season, which ranks fifth-worst in baseball as well as a 1.36 WHIP, which ranks in the bottom half of the league.
Jose Altuve OVER 1.5 total bases (+105 DraftKings)
Jose Altuve has also started the season hot as he is posting a .346/.407/.589 slash line and has collected two or more bases in seven of his previous 13 games. He will be at Coors Field facing right-hander, Cal Quantrill.
This should be good new for Altuve as Quantrill has allowed a .309 BAA to right-handed hitters this season. He has also allowed three home runs and two doubles across the 62 righties he has faced. Altuve has also posted a 1.126 OPS vs. right-handed pitchers this season while smacking six home runs.
