MacKenzie Gore OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-150 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Gore will make his debut for Washington today after coming over in the Juan Soto deal. He will be up against the Braves, who struggled a bit vs. lefties in 2022 as they posted a top 10 K rate against them with a rate of 23.3%. Gore has the stuff to get to five strikeouts as well as he posted a 9.26 K/9 in 2022

Joe Ryan OVER 5.5 strikeouts (+125 DraftKings Sportsbook)

This is a bit dicier, but at +125 odds, it is worth the risk. Ryan had a tremendous season in 2022 in which he posted a 9.24 K/9. He also struck out at least six in 14 starts, including three of his four starts against the Royals. Kansas City is not known to be a high K rate team, however, they did post a rate north of 21% in 2022.

Jeffrey Springs OVER than 5.5 strikeouts (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)

I am a big fan of Springs as he has a superb 2022 season in which he posted a 9.58 K/9. He managed to strike out at least six batters in 12 starts on the season. He will be up against a hapless Tigers team today that posted a 22.2% K rate against southpaws in 2022 while also posting just a 6.6% walk rate. Springs should not get into much trouble in this one and should be able to come away with six strikeouts in yet another start.

Aaron Judge OVER 1.5 total bases (-120 DraftKings Sportsbook)

If you are feeling extra frisky, you could also look at Judge OVER 2.5 hits+runs+RBI at plus money as I expect him to have a solid day today against Ross Stripling. It is no secret that Stripling has reverse splits as he struggles much more against right-handed hitters, and that could be a big problem vs. this right-handed heavy Yankees' lineup. Over the previous two seasons, Stripling has allowed 24 home runs to righties while also allowing a .254 BAA. Judge has hit righties well also as he has posted a 1.027 OPS vs. right-handers since 2021.
