MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Evan Carter over 1.5 total bases (+145, DraftKings sportsbook)
The D-backs are rolling out young right-hander Brandon Pfaadt for Game 3 Monday night and fellow youngster Evan Carter looks like a great value play to collect at least a pair of total bases in this one.
There's no doubt Pfaadt has been good this fall, working to a 2.70 ERA across four postseason starts spanning 16 2/3 innings of work. However, the rookie was far inferior in a larger regular-season sample as he posted a 5.72 ERA across 96 regular-season frames. His 4.92 FIP in 12 Triple-A starts this season isn't exactly anything to write home about, either.
As for Carter, the rookie has been wildly impressive in a whirlwind campaign. He spent time at four levels in the Rangers' system this season, raking at every stop. The 21-year-old hit .306 with five home runs, three stolen bases, and a 1.058 OPS across 75 MLB plate appearances after destroying minor league pitching.
He has continued to take into the postseason. Carter is hitting .313 with a homer, three steals, and a .973 OPS across 58 playoff plate appearances to this point. He is 3-for-9 with two doubles so far in the Fall Classic.
As good as Pfaadt has been in these playoffs, there's probably some regression to be had. After all, he yielded an .867 OPS to left-handed hitters in the regular season. Carter has steadily raked right-handers across four levels this season.
Add it up and there would appear to be significant value upside with the Rangers likely No. 3 hitter in this one tonight.

Rookies are the theme of the day here at RotoBaller as we target another Rangers rookie to deliver for us in tonight's critical Game 3 matchup.
All Jung has done this postseason is hit. The 25-year-old enters tonight's contest hitting .302 with three home runs and an .894 OPS across 58 playoff plate appearances to this point. He has at least one hit in 10 of 14 postseason contests this fall while notching four hits over his last three games. Admittedly, he is without an extra-base knock since homering twice against the Astros in Game 3 of the ALCS but he has still gone over this total in two of his last three contests.
All of this is on the heels of a rock-solid rookie campaign. Jung hit .266 with a hefty 23 home runs across just 122 games played in the regular season. His power has been as advertised in the big leagues, as per his .203 isolated power in 148 appearances at the big-league level.
Hitting eighth in the batting order isn't ideal but it does put him in a good position to score a run if he does get on base. With the bats of Marcus Semien and Corey Seager looming two and three spots behind him in the lineup, there's a very real chance Jung could only require one hit to get over this prop by crossing home plate with the help of his teammates at the top of the lineup.
Let's look for another Rangers rookie bat to deliver for us in a pivotal Game 3 in Arizona.
Good luck, RotoBallers!
