MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Nathan Eovaldi OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-105 Caesars Sportsbook)
I am typically not a proponent of playing Eovaldi K props in either direction, but the odds and matchup make sense here. Eovaldi faced the Yankees five times in 2021 and went over 5.5 strikeouts in four of those five games. He also struck out 195 batters across 182 1/3 innings pitched. This is a Yankees' team that struck out the sixth-most against right-handers in 2021 with a rate of 24.9%.
John Means OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-140 Caesars Sportsbook)
The Rays struggled mightily against left-handed pitching in 2021 as they posted the third-highest K rate in the league with a rate of 25.6%. 2022 does not get any easier as they will be facing southpaw, John Means. Means is not known for being a high K-rate pitcher as he struck out just 134 batters across 146 2/3 innings pitched in 2021, but he did eclipse this total in four of five starts against the Rays a season ago.
Logan Webb OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-135 Caesars Sportsbook)
Logan Webb was a breakout in 2021 as he struck out 158 batters across 148 1/3 innings pitched. He gets one of the best matchups on the slate in this one as he will be facing the Marlins who struck out the most against right-handed pitchers in 2021 with a rate of 27.5%. He is also fresh off a four-inning start in spring training, so he should be good for a solid workload in this one.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Will Smith over .5 home runs (+375 Caesars Sportsbook)
Will Smith takes a trip to Coors Field, which makes this +375 pop, especially considering other books have it as low as +300. Smith hit left-handed hitters to the tune of a .738 OPS with six bombs in 2021, which is relatively solid. He gets Kyle Freeland in this one who gave up 16 bombs to righties a season ago and has also allowed Smith to homer off of him once in five at-bats.
