Today's MLB Betting Picks - Marlins at Yankees

This is a great matchup for the New York Yankees against Marlins left-hander, A.J. Puk. Puk struggled mightily in his first two starts this season as he has allowed a total of six earned runs and nine walks over his first six innings pitched.
Enter the New York Yankees, who are posting a wRC+ mark of 137 vs. southpaws across their first 123 PA this season, which ranks the second best in baseball. They are also posting a walk rate of 14.6%, which ranks the second best in the league as well.
This is almost as bad a matchup as Puk could expect to see and there are several plays worth taking a look at. These plays include the Yankees' first five innings moneyline at -190, Yankees run line at +110, and Yankees team total over 4.5 runs at -110.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have started the season hot as expected and they are now 9-4 and have an early three-game lead in the NL West. They will be up against the Twins right-hander, Louie Varland, which should be good news for them. In 2023, Varland posted an ERA of 4.63 while allowing 16 home runs across just 17 games played.
The Dodgers have started 2024 by posting a wRC+ mark of 128 vs. right-handed pitching, which ranks the third best in baseball. They have scored a total of 73 runs this season across their 13 games and have shown a very potent offense. The play here, aside from the Dodgers moneyline at -192, is their team total over 4.5 runs at -130. The only concern here is that the Twins bullpen has posted the third-best ERA to begin the season.
