As expected throughout the week, Marshawn Lynch was ruled out by the Seahawks on Saturday for today's matchup against the Bengals. According to Ian Rapoport, veteran Running Back Fred Jackson is expected to play today despite exiting Monday nights game with an ankle injury.
With Lynch out, rookie running back Thomas Rawls will get the start for the Seahawks. Rawls had 16 and 17 carries in the last two games respectively, and I expect more of the same this week. The Bengals are a good matchup as they have allowed the 6th-most fantasy points to running backs through four weeks.
When it comes to Jackson's usage, I'm expecting that to be dependent on Rawls performance. If he is effective, the Seahawks will likely use Jackson as little as possible. So even though Jackson is active, I would not feel comfortable starting him outside of the deepest of leagues. With Lynch out again, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more rushes from quarterback Russell Wilson, which is a plus for his value.
