BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 34% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Obviously nobody's happy with a batting average hovering around the Mendoza line, but fantasy owners ought to remain patient with Franmil Reyes. The 23-year-old slugger is clearly the favored option over Hunter Renfroe in right field and continues to regularly man the cleanup spot in the Padres' batting order. The power has been as advertised, and he's carried over most of the plate approach gains from the second half of last season while also hitting more balls in the air.
As for that .203 average, it's more the product of rotten luck than anything else. Reyes' .176 BABIP isn't supported by his batted ball data...like, at all. Dude is straight smoking the ball on a regular basis as his barrel rate, hard hit rate, and xWOBA are all among the game's best per Statcast. If you're in one of the two-thirds of Yahoo leagues where he's free to add, go fix that immediately.
