BALLER MOVE: Target in Rounds 11-13 in All Leagues
ANALYSIS: We've all seen the miserable numbers Liriano is capable of putting up in seasons past. But in his previous two campaigns, while battling through injuries, he's managed to gain some control on the mound. Liriano posted an attractive 3.02 ERA in 2013 and a palatable 3.38 ERA in his most recent campaign.
It's good to see some consistency from a pitcher who posted an astronomical ERA over three prior seasons. As a fantasy owner, it's also good to see a man who has secretly been top-10 in K/9 for the past two seasons. He may not be as reliable as other pitchers, but he has much more upside than the likes of Jered Weaver, Michael Pineda, and other pitchers with a higher ranking. An ADP of 191.7 is far too low for a man with so much raw potential. Liriano is the epitome of a high-risk, high-reward type of pitcher.
If you decide to draft him, it's necessary to keep and eye on his match ups and avoid dangerous situations. If you play your cards right, Liriano will rack up a ton of strikeouts and deliver some top-notch, ace-like starts as he did going down the stretch in 2014.
