ANALYSIS: Injuries have ravaged the Padres' outfield thus far in 2018, opening the door for Franchy Cordero to receive everyday at-bats. Last year, in his first full season at Triple-A, the 23-year-old hit .326/.369/.603 with 17 home runs and 15 stolen bases in just 93 games. He's already racked up four homers and two steals in 13 games for San Diego this season.
Cordero is still quite raw, as evidenced by the fact that he's struck out 21 times in 54 plate appearances while drawing only three walks. He may also be squeezed out of the outfield whenever Hunter Renfroe returns from the disabled list. Still, his blend of pop and speed makes him worthy of consideration in deep and NL-only formats for the foreseeable future.
