Welcome back race fans. This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 on Sunday afternoon. For the first time since way back in 1996, New Hampshire will host just one race during the season as the second race has been moved to Las Vegas which kicks off the Playoffs. The one-track mile, flat track is one of the most difficult on the circuit and it shows as there are six drivers tied with three career wins here and five of them are former series champions.
From a fantasy perspective, qualifying and track position is very important as there have been six drivers who have started Top 10 finish there in five of the last six races here. There have also been just 10 drivers over the last six races finish Top 10 who have started outside the Top 20(17%) so place differential can be somewhat hard to come by this week. Instead, we will be concentrating on dominator points as there have been two drivers to lead 100 or more laps in three of the last four races here at the Magic Mile. Keep in mind these picks below come after qualifying on Friday but before the final two practices so be sure to check the cheatsheet following those practices to see my final targets and thoughts heading into Sunday's race.
Daily Fantasy NASCAR: DraftKings and FanDuel DFS Lineup Picks - Foxwoods Resort Casino 301
Martin Truex Jr.(DK-$11,300 FD-$12,700)
Tough to fade the #78 team right now as Truex, since Talladega, has eight Top 5 finishes in his last nine races including three wins. He is also more than overdue for his first win at New Hampshire in his career after leading 100 or more laps in each of the last four trips to the Magic Mile. He qualified on the front row beside Kurt Busch and will have a great chance at leading laps and tying Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick with five wins on the season.
Kyle Larson(DK-$9,900 FD-$11,000)
Larson ranks as my top place differential value this week as he will start back in the 20th position this week after posting the second-fastest speed in opening practice. He also returns to New Hampshire with some terrific track history having finished runner-up in both races last year and Top 10 in four of his eight career races here. At these prices, I will have plenty of exposure to the #42 in all formats.
Erik Jones(DK-$8,200 FD-$9,800)
Jones comes in red-hot with four straight Top 10 finishes including his first career win at Daytona and comes to us in the value range once again this week. He was involved in a crash early in his first Cup race here last year but rebounded in a big way in the second race starting 8th and finishing 6th. I like him for both sites this week but he does carry much more value on FanDuel as he isn't likely to dominate from a Top 10 starting position.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.(DK-$7,400 FD-$8,000)
Stenhouse hasn't shown much speed early in the race weekend ranking 29th in opening practice but with a 23rd starting position, gives us some place differential this week at a value price. Even more good news as he has finished Top 15 here at New Hampshire in two straight and four of his last five trips here.
