Foster Moreau is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for tight ends. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 8 of the 2021 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: As surprising as it was, as we had no prior information about the possibilities of it happening this Sunday, Las Vegas TE Darren Waller was scratched from this past weekend's game against Philly. That opened the door to backup TE Foster Moreau to play the leading role at the position. And Moreau surely took the opportunity by the horns, logged a masterful outing, and never looked back.

Moreau, mind you, and only topped 40 offensive snaps once prior to Week 7, and 30 twice (in Weeks 1 and 2). He'd been pretty much an afterthought for the Raiders, which in all honesty makes sense considering Darren Waller's presence in the offense. Moreau, though, was good enough to kick the year off with a 3-2-34-1 promising line, although from Week 2 to Week 6 all the tight end did was get targeted 3 combined times for 2 receptions and 19 yards total. Ugh.

Now, Moreau is coming off his best game of the year and a TE4 overall finish (pending MNF results) thanks to his 18 PPR points against the Eagles. Moreau put up a perfect 6-for-6 receiving line to go with 60 receiving yards and his second touchdown of the season. He played a ridiculous 100% of the team offensive snaps last Sunday, which won't probably happen again, but this performance might open him a window of opportunity in which QB Derek Carr looks a little bit more his way in the routes he runs when on the field (either alone or playing along with Waller in 2-TE sets). Definitely a flier worth taking only by those in ultra-deep leagues in normal times, but perhaps a little bit less of a risk if Waller has to miss time (more than two weeks, that is, as the Raiders are going on a bye this upcoming weekend).
