ANALYSIS: With Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller still out and in the Injured Reserve, the Las Vegas Raiders keep banking on their second-tier options weekly to stay afloat and navigate their schedule. Things might be more fluid when it comes to wideouts, but with the TE1 of the team out, it was always going to be Foster Moreau eating every Waller left on the plate.
Moreau has manned the tight end position from Week 5 on as Waller only appeared in the first four games of the season. The truth is that Moreau could (should?) have put up better results season-wide, but he's actually been a bit bouncy alternating good and back games on a weekly basis.
These are the fantasy PPR points this season, starting on Week 2 and up to last Sunday (I'm rounding to the closest integer to make it simpler): 6, 7, 6, 9, 4, 13, 4, and 12 PPR points. From a positional-rank angle: TE23, 18, 24, 14, 27, 6, 22, and lastly 8.
Up and down, up and down, up and down,... Good for Moreau and those out there still believing in him, the backup-TE has given them reasons of late with two out of three games into the top-8 in the position scoring one touchdown in each of those games and catching 3 receptions for 33+ yards each time.
Moreau has caught at least one pass in each of his eight games this season. He's seen 4+ targets in all but one, and he's always finished with 28+ receiving yards. He's raised the bar of late reaching 33+ yards in four consecutive games while also scoring his first two touchdowns of the season in that span.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Moreau is that he's playing absolutely every single snap the Raiders happen to play on offense. He's been on the field for 96, 100, 97, 96, 100, and 100 percent of his team's offensive snaps in the past six games. He's just not missing a single one, so you know he will still keep getting looks no matter what.
Moreau's bounciness keeps him from being a real TE1-level addition through waivers (that's basically why you can still find him there in 60% of all Yahoo leagues) but he should be more than a good option for those streaming the position even in just slightly deeper leagues.
