Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy NASCAR where we will be discussing the FireKeepers Casino 400 from Michigan International Speedway. The track is two mile D shaped oval superspeedway. The teams will see a new rules package once again at Michigan after last years horrible experiment with the high spoiler. They will continue to go in the opposite direction by removing down force on the cars which should present more passing opportunities and hopefully a better race all together.
There are some drivers who are great values this week no matter where they qualify and then there are some who can be eliminated with a good qualifying run and others who get a large boost from starting further back in the pack. First practice will take place on Friday morning with qualifying coming later in the day. Stay tuned throughout the weekend.
If you have any questions leading up to the race be sure to join the conversation in the chat below. I will also be sharing a link to a cheatsheet I developed and use weekly to help reduce research time. The cheatsheet includes driver salaries, track history(last 5 years), current form(last 5 races), Season Loop Data, and I also provide updated practice and qualifying rankings with a weighted system to rank all drivers. The cheatsheet will and lineup swill be updated throughout the weekend so be sure to follow me on Twitter and check your emails for lineup updates. Daily Fantasy NASCAR: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks
Kyle Busch - $10,100
After a terrific start to the season Kyle has now finished three straight races outside of the 30th finishing position. He has been boom or bust all year with his aggressive driving style. If you're not first you're last is how Ricky Bobby put it. The recent form and other A+ choices should help push the owner ship down this making Kyle a great GPP play. He has a win and three Top 5 finishes here in the last five years.
Brad Keselowski - $9,200
The price on the #2 is just too low. He hit his season low salary three races ago at Dover($8,900) and has only seen an increase of $300 since and is coming off a 6th, 5th and 3rd place finish. He now goes back to his home track to try and record his first win at Michigan International Speedway. Despite not winning he has been pretty good here with three Top 5's, six Top 10's, and a 9.3 average finish(best in the field) over the past five years(10 races). The Penske cars have been showing a ton of speed and should be a factor once gain this week.
Chase Elliott - $9,800
The rookie driver will be making his first trip to Michigan and there is no reason to believe he will have any issues figuring it out. He has performed admirably in his first season and has seen tremendous results at every style of race track. He comes into this race sitting 7th in points ahead of some drivers with wins. He has been extremely consistent with five straight Top 10's and now has 10 on the season to go with his five Top 5 finishes. His price has actually started to come back down after peaking earlier in the season at $8,600. Take the value in the mid tier and move on.
Greg Biffle - $6,900
Biffle has been the forgotten man in NASCAR with all the young drivers coming up and performing like veterans. He currently sits 25th in the points standings as he has not recorded one Top 10 finish this year. It could very well be this week as he returns to a track where he has had tremendous history. Biffle is a four time winner with his most recent wins coming back to back in August 2012 and June 2013. In the last five years(10 races) he has lead more laps(294) than any other driver. He is always low owned and makes a great GPP play this week and under $7K could also be considered in cash games if he qualifies outside the Top 10.
Also Consider - Denny Hamlin
