ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh reliever Felipe Rivero has three wins and three saves for the Pirates this season and he is the reliever to own in Pittsburgh. On Saturday, Rivero had another five-out finish to a game, this time resulting in a win. Rivero was called into a tied game with one out in the eighth inning versus the St. Louis Cardinals and did not surrender a hit the rest of the way. Rivero is now 3-1 with an 0.68 ERA on the year. While his 14 holds put him on the fantasy landscape, his ability to close out games is going to keep him on the fantasy radar. His three saves this month are not massive, but his low ERA and 43 strikeouts in 40 innings are intriguing.
He could turn out to be one of the better waiver adds at the RP position this season if he keeps this up, particularly with co-closer Juan Nicasio struggling at the end of games. Rivero should have been scooped up about a week or two ago, but if he is still avaialble in your league pick him up immediately.
