Cooper Kupp Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring) is unlikely to participate in joint practices this week, according to head coach Sean McVay. The team was hopeful to get Kupp back for joint practices with the Las Vegas Raiders this week.
However, it sounds like next week is a better timetable for Kupp's return to the field. The 30-year-old continues to deal with a lingering hamstring issue, so the team isn't going to push anything. The expectation is that Kupp is going to be fine by the time the regular season rolls around.
Garrett Wilson Injury Update
New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday at training camp and did more than expected. He took a handful of repetitions in 11-on-11 work and even caught two passes. Wilson seemed to have no problem cutting on the grass field after suffering a minor low-ankle sprain early in camp.
The Jets have brought the 23-year-old pass-catcher along slowly in camp. As long as no setbacks happen, he'll be 100 percent healthy for Week 1 of the regular season, where he'll be a top-10 fantasy receiver now that he'll be taking passes from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Jaylen Waddle Injury Update
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (abdomen) does not have a timetable for when he will return, but coach Mike McDaniel said Sunday that he's happy with how the third-year wideout is recovering. Waddle suffered the injury during a joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this week.
At this point, there's no reason to be concerned about his availability for Week 1. The former Alabama wide receiver had a league-high 18.1 yards per catch last year, while also going for over 1,000 yards. Waddle is a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 in fantasy football.
Elijah Moore Injury Update
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore (ribs) is being labeled day-to-day after leaving Friday's preseason game against Washington early. Coach Kevin Stefanski added that he's unsure if Moore will practice this week against Philadelphia.
Cleveland's offseason addition caught one pass for six yards and had an 18-yard run before leaving Friday's game. Moore is listed as a starter for the Browns alongside Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones, making him an interesting WR4/flex play in PPR leagues.
Rashid Shaheed Injury Update
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (groin) did not suit up for the team's first preseason game Sunday. The speedy wideout suffered the injury at training camp last weekend and is expected to miss a few weeks. The sophomore figures to be an important piece of the Saints' offense in 2023, playing alongside Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.
In 12 games during his rookie campaign, Shaheed snagged 28 receptions for 488 yards and two touchdowns. He will likely go undrafted in standard, 12-team fantasy leagues but is worth a look in deeper formats.
Terrace Marshall Jr. Injury Update
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. (back) "tweaked a little something in his back" at training camp practice on Monday, according to head coach Frank Reich. Marshall had to be carted off the field, so this is certainly a situation worth watching this week at camp.
The 23-year-old former second-round selection in 2021 improved in his sophomore season in 2022, hauling in 28 of his 47 targets for 490 yards and one touchdown in 14 games (nine starts). Marshall will be fighting for a bigger role in Year 3, but it won't be easy alongside Adam Thielen, DJ Chark and rookie Jonathan Mingo, as well as tight end Hayden Hurst. And with rookie quarterback Bryce Young leading the offense, there won't be a ton of upside for Marshall in fantasy.
