Keenan Allen Injury Update
Keenan Allen suffered a quadriceps injury in last week's game against the Baltimore Ravens. The veteran sat out of practice to start the week but was able to return on Friday in a limited capacity. The Chargers officially listed Allen as questionable for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
With the Chargers already light on wide receivers entering Week 13, it would be tough to lose their top target, even if it is a game against a far inferior opponent. Head coach Brandon Staley said in his press conference Friday that they wanted to give Allen some rest and evaluate his status for the game this weekend. Keep an eye on reports, but if Allen can not go, Austin Ekeler should see a target boost while Quentin Johnston and Jalen Guyton take over as the top two receivers.
Chris Olave Injury Update
Chris Olave suffered a concussion during last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons. The 23-year-old has been practicing all week, being a full participant on Friday. The Saints officially listed Olave as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions on Friday.
Head coach Dennis Allen stated that Olave has to clear the final stage of the concussion protocol to play on Sunday. Keep an eye on reports over the weekend, but we should know whether or not the second-year receiver can suit up well before game time. With Michael Thomas on IR and Rashid Shaheed (thigh) also ruled out for this game, the Saints are incredibly thin at receiver. Olave would be a top-tier option if active, but if not, Taysom Hill and the remaining depth receivers in New Orleans will need to take up the reigns on Sunday.
Tank Dell Injury Update
Tank Dell suffered a calf injury in last week's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The rookie sat out on Wednesday but was able to put in two limited practices this week. The Texans officially labeled Dell as questionable for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos on Friday.
The rookie seems confident that he will play on Sunday, and with Noah Brown (knee) also questionable, the Texans could use him. Dell has been on an absolute tear the past month, tallying 25 receptions for 369 yards and five touchdowns. Nico Collins should see plenty of work even if Dell is active, but Dell will be a WR2 if he can play Sunday.
Marquise Brown Injury Update
Marquise Brown has dealt with a heel injury the past few weeks that has cost him practice time. The 26-year-old played through the injury last week against the Rams and saw plenty of targets, but he has not practiced in any capacity this week. With that said, the Cardinals listed Brown as questionable for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.
Brown does not have to practice to play, but not getting on the practice field at all is concerning. Fantasy managers should prepare a pivot option just in case the team decides to air on the side of caution. With Michael Wilson (shoulder) already ruled out, Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch would see the majority of snaps at the receiver position and would be flex options for fantasy managers if needed.
Jayden Reed Injury Update
Jayden Reed has dealt with a chest injury over the past few weeks. The rookie played through it last week in their win against the Detroit Lions, but did miss the first two days of practice this week. After getting in a limited session Friday, the Packers listed Reed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Head coach Matt LaFleur stated earlier in the week that Reed would not need to practice to play Sunday, so getting in a limited session Friday should mean he is ready to roll for what could be the biggest game of the season for Green Bay. The Packers will want all hands on deck against the Chiefs, especially with starting running back Aaron Jones (knee) out again. Reed will be a flex option if added even in a tough matchup.
Chris Godwin Injury Update
Chris Godwin suffered a neck injury this past week against the Indianapolis Colts. The veteran was able to practice on a limited basis on Thursday but sat out on Friday. The Buccaneers officially listed Godwin as questionable for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers on Friday.
Going from limited to no participation in practice to end the week is never a good sign, and with the Buccaneers playing a broken Carolina team, Tampa Bay could elect to rest their No. 2 receiver Sunday. Mike Evans will continue to work as the top option, while rookie Trey Palmer should take over for Godwin as the No. 2 and would be in flex consideration.
Noah Brown Injury Update
Noah Brown has missed the past two games due to a knee injury. The 27-year-old did return to the practice field twice this past week in a limited fashion but sat out on Friday. The Texans officially listed Brown as questionable for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos on Friday.
The late-week downgrade in practice participation is alarming. Fantasy managers should continue to plan ahead and have a backup option ready just in case Brown can not go for the third week in a row. Tank Dell (calf) is also listed as questionable but is expected to suit up. He and Nico Collins will be the top fantasy options heading into the weekend.
Demario Douglas Injury Update
Demario Douglas suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the New York Giants. The rookie was not able to make his way back onto the practice field this week and was officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday.
The Patriots have benched Mac Jones in favor of Bailey Zappe and are now missing their most explosive pass catcher. While DeVante Parker and Jalen Reagor will see an increase in both snaps and targets, neither are viable fantasy options in Week 13. Douglas will hope to return next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rashid Shaheed Injury Update
Rashid Shaheed suffered a thigh injury last week against the Atlanta Falcons. The 25-year-old has sat out of practice all week and the Saints officially ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions on Friday.
Chris Olave's (concussion) status is also up in the air for Sunday's showdown with the Lions. If he misses, the team will be down to rookie A.T. Perry and Keith Kirkwood as their top two wideouts. Expect Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and Juwan Johnson to have more involvement as pass catchers on Sunday if Olave is ruled out.
Michael Wilson Injury Update
Michael Wilson has missed the past two weeks due to a shoulder injury. The rookie has yet to return to practice since suffering the injury, and the Arizona Cardinals ruled him out for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.
Marquise Brown (heel) could miss this game as well after missing practice all week. If that does happen, Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch would be the top two receivers heading into Week 13's Sunday slate. Both would have flex appeal in a week with multiple teams on bye.
Treylon Burks Injury Update
Treylon Burks has been out since Week 10 due to a concussion he suffered a week prior. The second-year receiver finally returned to the practice field this past week and was even able to return in a full capacity in two of three sessions. With that said, the Titans listed Burks as questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts on Friday.
Burks return to the field would spell the end of Kyle Philips' run as the No. 2 option in Tennessee. Even in a week with multiple teams on bye, the 23-year-old would not be a recommended flex option out the gate. Dynasty managers can plan to have Burks for the stretch run if needed even if he misses one more week.
