Mark Andrews Injury Update
Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (knee) wasn't seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Tuesday. Andrews was also listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, so he'll probably need to get onto the practice field in some capacity on Wednesday to have a shot at playing on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 27-year-old played despite a questionable tag in the Week 7 win over the Cleveland Browns, but he didn't record a catch and was double-teamed by the Browns defense for most of the game. Fantasy managers need to keep Andrews in their starting lineups if he's active, but they'll have to check the official inactives before Thursday's contest. If Andrews doesn't play, rookie Isaiah Likely will see a much bigger role in the passing attack.
David Njoku Injury Update
Updating a previous report, further testing showed that Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He will not require surgery but is expected to be out for two to five weeks, according to a source. It's a tough break for Njoku and his fantasy managers, as the 26-year-old was in the midst of a breakout season for Cleveland, catching 34 of his 42 targets for 418 yards and a touchdown in seven games.
He's worth stashing in an Injured Reserve spot if you have the roster space. Harrison Bryant will now take on a much bigger pass-catching role with Njoku sidelined, but he'll merely be a TE2 streamer in Cleveland's run-first offense.
Daniel Bellinger Injury Update
New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger has suffered a fracture around his eye socket and septum that may require surgery. For now, it's tough to know what the injury timeline is since it's a fairly rare football injury, so fantasy managers who have been streaming him will have to keep up to date with his latest news.
If he misses time, wide receivers Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson and tight end Chris Myarick could be in line for more targets and more significant roles.
Dalton Schultz Injury Update
Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz has been in and out of the lineup this season as he deals with a knee injury. The 26-year-old appeared to tweak his knee again in the team's Week 7 win over the Detroit Lions, but he returned to the field and is considered to be "fine" going forward.
With Dak Prescott returning from an injury of his own, Schultz had his most productive fantasy performance of the season since Week 1. Assuming he suffers no setbacks with his knee, fantasy managers should continue to view him as a TE1 in their starting lineups
Cameron Brate Injury Update
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate (neck) missed practice for the second straight day this week on Tuesday. Brate has missed two of the last three games due to neck and concussion issues, and he's not on the right track to return on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
Rookie Cade Otton and Kyle Rudolph will split tight end duties if Brate cannot play, with Otton being the more attractive TE2 streamer in deeper leagues.
