We're already on to Week 6 of the NFL's regular season and with the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders on a bye, two must-start studs from the tight end position are out of action. With the scarcity at tight end, injuries will make start-or-sit decisions even tougher. These are the latest injury updates as of Friday, October 14 for tight ends Dawson Knox, Pat Freiermuth, Kyle Pitts, and Cameron Brate.
Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Tight ends are always tricky to navigate in fantasy football, so keeping up with the latest injury news is vital for staying competitive.

Dawson Knox Injury Update
Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (foot/hamstring) will play against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Knox hasn't had a boom fantasy performance yet, but it could come in this game that's expected to be a shootout.
Fantasy points against statistics should be thrown by the wayside in this game as both elite quarterbacks should be able to score points. Knox's upside is huge this week and he should be started over all no-brainer starting fantasy tight ends.
Pat Freiermuth Injury Update
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth will miss the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he suffered a concussion in the loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. This should open up more targets for Chase Claypool, Dionte Johnson, and George Pickens, but Zach Gentry could be a factor, too.
Ultimately, the Buccaneers' front seven will likely terrorize rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, so all Steelers' pass-catchers carry plenty of risk into this game.
Kyle Pitts Injury Update
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts (hamstring) is officially questionable for the Week 6 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. Pitts missed last week's game against Tampa Bay, so there's a real chance he could miss this game, too. If Pitts is active, it's tough to bench him, even after a slow start to the season. Fantasy managers invested valuable draft capital in him hoping for elite tight end upside.
His upside is still a top-10 weekly tight end, but his floor is clearly lower. If he's out, Olamide Zaccheaus should be the secondary target in the passing game. That said, he's more of a deep league-only flex option.
Cameron Brate Injury Update
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate (concussion) doesn't carry an injury tag into Week 6 against the Steelers, so he's ready to go after missing last week. With Brate inactive last weekend, rookie Cade Otton got the start and had a season-high six receptions on seven targets for 43 yards.
In four games this season, Brate has 11 catches on 19 targets for 100 yards and no touchdowns. There's a chance Otton could flat-out replace him as the Buccaneers' TE1, but both are not strong starting candidates given the uncertainty. Either can be used as DFS dart throws, though.
