Travis Kelce Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (knee) practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday, according to head coach Andy Reid, who said Kelce has "made progress." Kelce was inactive in the Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions last Thursday night due to a bone bruise he suffered in practice last Tuesday when he hyperextended his knee.

The 33-year-old All-Pro appears to have a pretty good shot at making his 2023 debut in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, but we'll have a better idea on his availability later this week. If Kelce is active, he's an obvious must-start in all fantasy lineups as the best tight end in the league. If he misses a second straight game, Noah Gray will once again have an expanded role in the passing game, but he clearly has a low fantasy floor.

Mark Andrews Injury Update

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (quad) participated in practice on Wednesday on a limited basis. The Pro Bowler missed the Week 1 contest against the Houston Texans, but his early-week participation is a good sign for Week 2. Baltimore squares off with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, and Andrews is a must-start in all matchups.

If he misses the contest, Isaiah Likely is tough to trust in fantasy lineups after catching just one pass on one target for four yards in Week 1.

Darren Waller Injury Update

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring), who isn't practicing on Wednesday, revealed that his hamstring injury is the "same" right hamstring that landed him on Injured Reserve with the Las Vegas Raiders last year, although it's a slightly different issue. Waller got through the Week 1 beatdown at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys and had three catches for a team-high 36 yards, but it's a lingering issue that hopefully won't last much longer.

The 31-year-old said it's a nerve issue, but head coach Brian Daboll said he'd be OK and will receive a veteran rest day once a week. Waller doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he should remain in all starting lineups as quarterback Daniel Jones' preferred target in the passing attack.

Dalton Schultz Injury Update

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (thigh) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Schultz's status is one to watch heading into the weekend, but the fact that he even practiced at all is a good sign for his availability heading into Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts. The 27-year-old's debut with the team in the Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens didn't go so well, as he caught just two of four targets for a measly four yards.

He'll have a chance to bounce back in a much better matchup this Sunday, but until further notice, Schultz should be considered more of a low-end TE2 in fantasy in an offense that is going to have its share of growing pains under rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud this year.

Greg Dulcich Injury Update

Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice. The 23-year-old tight end suffered a hamstring injury in Denver's Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and is expected to miss multiple weeks, so the DNP on Wednesday is not a surprise.

While Dulcich is slated to miss some time, he hasn't been placed on IR, which means he could rejoin the team sometime within the next three weeks. In the meantime, Adam Trautman will soak up all of the tight-end targets in Denver. It remains to be seen what the workload split will look like once Dulcich returns but it likely won't be good for his or Trautman's fantasy value.
