Tyler Higbee Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (elbow) is listed as questionable to play in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but head coach Sean McVay thinks that Higbee will play on Sunday. Higbee underwent an MRI on his injured elbow this week, but he got positive results and should suit up this weekend for fantasy managers. The 29-year-old had by far his best game of the season in last week's blowout win over the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day, going for nine catches, 94 yards, and two touchdowns on 11 targets.
Higbee now has three touchdowns on 13 receptions in his last two games and will enter Sunday's matchup against the Bolts as a low-end TE1 play for fantasy managers. He enters Week 17 play as the TE9 in half-point PPR scoring.
Hayden Hurst Injury Update
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst (calf) practiced in full on Thursday. With Hurst being a full practice participant in the first practice of the week, he's on track to make his return on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills for the first time since Week 13.
The 29-year-old should reclaim his job as the team's top pass-catching tight end over Mitchell Wilcox, but fantasy managers should still be very wary of using Hurst in starting lineups with everything on the line. Hurst could easily see his snaps monitored after a three-game layoff as the Bengals look to get right for the playoffs in two weeks. In 12 games before his injury, Hurst had 48 receptions (63 targets) for 400 yards and only two touchdowns.
Noah Fant Injury Update
Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (knee) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice. This was an improvement after he missed practice on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has looked solid lately, catching 17 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns over the course of his last seven games.
He's in line for an even larger role moving forward after fellow tight end Will Dissly (knee) was placed on injured reserve. Assuming Fant plays against the Jets in Week 17, consider him a high-end TE2.
