Dalton Schultz Injury Update
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (hamstring) is practicing with the team on Wednesday. KPRC's Aaron Wilson writes that Schultz is trending toward returning on Sunday to face the Tennessee Titans following a two-game absence due to a strained hamstring. Schultz's return to practice is great news for the Texans offense, but it may not matter if rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) is unable to play in Week 15.
The Texans could also be without receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) after he was injured in the Week 14 loss to the New York Jets. Schultz has had some big games and some head-scratching duds in 2023 in his first year in Houston, and although he could see a steady amount of targets on Sunday if he returns, he'll have a dangerously low floor if Stroud isn't active.
Taysom Hill Injury Update
New Orleans Saints tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill (foot, hand) was able to practice with the team on Wednesday as they get set to play the New York Giants on Sunday in Week 15. It's not a guarantee that Hill will play after sitting out the Week 14 win over the Carolina Panthers, but it's a good sign nonetheless.
The Saints continue to use Hill as a Swiss Army Knife all over the field in 2023, and he has 346 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground and a career-high 26 receptions for 229 yards through the air. He's also completed five passes for 72 yards and a TD. Before his injuries, Hill had 367 scrimmage yards and five TDs in the previous five games. The 33-year-old can do it all, but he's been a boom/bust low-end TE1 option for fantasy managers this year.
Dalton Kincaid Injury Update
Buffalo Bills rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid (shoulder, thumb) was listed as limited for the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Dawson Knox (wrist) was a full participant after coming off injured reserve to play in the Week 14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Kincaid's shoulder injury isn't believed to be serious, so he should be available to play in Week 15's showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
With Knox returning last Sunday, Kincaid played 78% of the offensive snaps and caught five passes for 21 yards, while Knox played 47% of the snaps and had three catches for 36 yards. The 24-year-old Kincaid will continue to have plenty of opportunities, but he's going to lose valuable targets to Knox moving forward and have a lower ceiling and floor in fantasy as a low-end TE1 target for fantasy managers.
Greg Dulcich Injury Update
Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) practiced fully on Wednesday as his team prepares to take on the Detroit Lions on Saturday. Dulcich has missed most of the season with a lingering hamstring injury but he appears ready to return to action against Detroit this weekend, although head coach Sean Payton would not commit to saying whether he would play. A return to action for Dulcich would cut into Adam Trautman's workload.
Hayden Hurst Injury Update
Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion) is not practicing on Wednesday ahead of the Week 15 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Hurst was a limited participant in practice last week for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 10, so his practice status being downgraded is not a good sign for his return.
The veteran was diagnosed with traumatic amnesia by an independent neurologist from the hit he took in Week 10, and the Panthers are not likely to take any chances with his health. There's a chance Hurst does not play against this season. Even if he does, he won't enter the fantasy radar given the Panthers' offensive struggles.
Tyler Higbee Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (neck) got in a limited practice on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 15 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Higbee missed Week 14's loss to the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a stinger in Week 13 but he is trending in the right direction with a limited session this Wednesday.
Head coach Sean McVay sounded optimistic about Higbee earlier in the week but fantasy gamers will still want to keep an eye on his practice statuses on Thursday and Friday. If he ultimately doesn't play, rookie Davis Allen would take on a full-time role against the Commanders.
Donald Parham Jr. Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. (shoulder) is questionable ahead of Thursday's meeting with the Raiders. The 26-year-old has been listed as a non-participant at practice all week, although it's hard to gauge how severe his injury is. Nonetheless, with Keenan Allen (heel) ruled out, Parham could see a few extra throws in his direction if he manages to shed his injury designation. But if he isn't on the field in Week 15, that should mean more targets for Gerald Everett.
