Mark Andrews Injury Update
Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) underwent surgery on his ankle on Tuesday in Charlotte with specialist Robert Anderson doing the procedure, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Andrews suffered the ankle injury in the first quarter of the Thursday Night Football contest in Week 11, and he is expected to miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
However, head coach Jim Harbaugh said on Monday that Andrews has an "outside chance" of returning this season. He did not speculate on whether the potential return could be in the regular season or postseason. It would be surprising to see Andrews take the field again this year, but he'll likely do everything in his power to come back for the Ravens' playoff push in January.
Dallas Goedert Injury Update
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) remains a DNP on Wednesday's estimated practice report after the team held a walkthrough following their Monday night win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Fellow tight end Grant Calcaterra (ankle) was also a DNP after getting hurt on Monday night. It's no surprise that Goedert still isn't practicing since suffering a fractured right forearm in Week 9 that required surgery.
The 28-year-old was expected to miss multiple weeks, but Philly never put him on Injured Reserve, suggesting they think be back before missing four games. The Eagles had a bye in Week 10. Goedert is highly unlikely to play this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but he could be back for a Week 13 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers. We'll continue to monitor his practice status.
Luke Musgrave Injury Update
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday after suffering a lacerated kidney in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie tight end will be required to miss at least the next four games. In his absence, fellow rookie tight end Tucker Kraft will be elevated to the TE1 role.
Kraft has played 31.6% of the team's offensive snaps thus far, while third-year tight end Josiah Deguara (hip) has posted a 22.7% snap share. Kraft is worth monitoring against the Detroit Lions in Week 12, but for now, he should remain on the waiver wire in 12-team leagues.
Gerald Everett Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett (back) was limited in practice on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 12 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Everett did not play in Week 11 after injuring himself in a Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions. His ability to get on the practice field on Wednesday is a good sign heading into a Week 12 clash against Baltimore.
Fantasy managers counting on Everett will want to keep an eye on his practice status throughout the remainder of the week. If Everett winds up missing another game, look for Donald Parham (hip) and Stone Smartt to lead the Chargers in snaps at the tight end position.
Hayden Hurst Injury Update
Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion) did not play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11 because he was in concussion protocol. The veteran did not practice on Wednesday ahead of the Week 12 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. It's too early to tell if he'll be out on Sunday, but practice reports and injury updates later in the week will give us more clarity.
However, Hurst is not on the fantasy radar after posting just 18 receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown through his first nine games as a Panther. The Titans have surrendered the second-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, so all Carolina tight ends should be benched or remain on the waiver wire this week.
Donald Parham Jr. Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. (hip) practiced fully on Wednesday ahead of his team's Week 12 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Parham caught four passes for 57 yards in his team's Week 11 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He spent some time on the injury report last week with a hip issue but he ultimately wound up playing through the injury.
He now enters Week 12 still listed on the injury report with a hip issue, but his ability to practice fully is a good sign for his potential availability this weekend. Gerald Everett (back) might also be returning to action after missing Week 11, which would put a damper on Parham's fantasy outlook this weekend.
